On Monday, 11th May, 2026 over 150 people attended the Safer Together community safety event hosted in the Rivercourt Hotel by the Kilkenny Local Community Safety Partnership (LCSP).
The free event brought together more than 20 organisations, agencies and support groups, providing members of the public with a valuable opportunity to engage directly with local services on a wide range of community safety topics.
Attendees had the opportunity to connect with representatives from An Garda Síochána, Kilkenny Fire & Rescue, Civil Defence, Teach Tom, the PPN, the DRIVE Project, Muintir na Tíre and many other organisations working to support communities across Kilkenny.
The evening featured information stands, practical safety advice, talks, and demonstrations aimed at promoting awareness, preparedness, and community resilience.
Refreshments and finger food were available throughout the event, and safety information packs were distributed to attendees.
Speaking following the event, representatives from the Kilkenny Local Community Safety Partnership described the evening as a great success, highlighting the strong turnout and the high level of engagement from both the community and participating organisations.
Safer Together demonstrated the importance of collaboration and community involvement in creating safer, more connected places to live.
The Kilkenny LCSP extends its thanks to all organisations, volunteers and members of the public who contributed to the success of the event.
