Saturday, July 25th promises to be one of the highlights of the summer social calendar as Gowran Park prepares to welcome thousands of racegoers for its spectacular Ladies Day.
Always one of the most anticipated events of the year, Ladies Day combines high fashion, fantastic entertainment and thrilling racing in a unique atmosphere that has become synonymous with Gowran Park.
Returning as Guest Judge is renowned fashion stylist and television personality Marietta Doran, who will once again be searching for the Best Dressed Lady on the day. With her eye for style and individuality, Marietta will have the difficult task of selecting this year’s winner from what is expected to be another exceptional display of fashion.
This year’s fashion competitions are generously sponsored by Lyrath Estate and MacDonagh Junction Shopping Centre, with an outstanding selection of luxury prizes awaiting the lucky winners.
The style spotlight won’t just be on the ladies. Detail Menswear will be onsite throughout the afternoon searching for the most stylish gentleman, with fantastic vouchers up for grabs for both their Kilkenny and Carlow stores.
Away from the catwalk, racegoers can enjoy a festival atmosphere with live music on the lawns throughout the afternoon, while the ever-popular rooftop bars provide the perfect setting to soak up the occasion. Following racing, the celebrations continue with a live DJ in the Style Marquee.
Hospitality demand has once again been exceptional, with both the Platinum and BBQ Hospitality Packages now completely sold out. A limited number of Silver Hospitality Packages remain available and are expected to sell quickly.
While fashion and entertainment are major attractions, the racing promises to be equally compelling. The feature contest is The John Fleming Irish EBF Listed Marble City Stakes, a prestigious Listed race attracting some of Ireland’s leading horses, trainers and jockeys for an afternoon of top-class racing.
To make travelling easier, complimentary courtesy buses will operate from the Gaol Road, departing from one hour before the first race.
Tickets are available now and racegoers are encouraged to book early by visiting www.gowranpark.ie.
Eddie Scally, General Manager of Gowran Park, said:
