On Friday night 8th August, Bennettsbridge Art Group members will gather in the Community Centre for the launch of their 2025 exhibition. Senator Malcolm Noonan will do the honours this year. Artists have been working hard for the past few months and are delighted to present the fruits of their labour to the public. The ten strong group have been together for a good many years and are very appreciative of the support of Siobhán O’Brien and her team at the KCETB.
Artists showing their work this year include, Una Gibbons, Daphne Hunt, Lin Cowley, Joan Cleere, Tom Barrett, Marion Murphy, Elma Kharaghani, Mary Dunny, Mary KIng, Marie Griffin and Joan Healy. This annual exhibition mounted during Kilkenny Arts Week attracts a large number of visitors and gives the artists a chance to discuss their work. It also affords the opportunity to encourage new members.
The wide range includes work in oils, acrylics, watercolour, pastels and collage. Under the guidance of their tutor, Julie Moorhouse, this group continues to explore alternative ways of making art while encouraging each individual’s artistic interests.
