Super food: From The Orchard to your home

By Jimmy Rhatigan

A BRILLIANT united front as our people fight the Coronavirus together is being re-enacted at a proud local business.

Staff and management at a popular local bar and restaurant that have been at the hub of a local community for 10 years has just announced an admirable community service.

In common with all other pubs and eateries, The Orchard House at the Orchard Road on the periphery of Kilkenny City is closed until our medical experts tell everyone that it is safe to return to normality.

In the meantime, thanks to the co-operation and goodwill between management and staff members, The Orchard will continue to do its utmost to provide a top class meals’ take away service for its local community and indeed for communities right across Kilkenny City.

Collected or delivered

Boss John Murphy in tandem with volunteer staff members will continue to toil behind the scenes to prepare an A La Carte Menu including starters, main courses and sides that can be collected at the bar or delivered to local homes.

“We will be open daily from 12 noon to 7pm from Monday providing the best of food that will be ready for eating on an agreed time for collection or delivery,” John told The Kilkenny Observer today, Friday.

“This is our way of saying thanks to our customers who have been so loyal to us over the past decade and with whom we hope to continue our great relationship for many years to come.”

Families and seniors

“Our food is nourishing, tasty and is on offer at very competitive prices. We can cater for families and children and we are conscious also that many of our customers are senior citizens and may be living alone so it will be particularly pleasing to provide top class food for them.

“All people have to do is to ring us or email us telling us what time they want to come and collect or what time they would like to have their food delivered and we will do the rest.

“Our phone number is 056-7712636 and the email address is tohkilkenny@gmail.com

Joh Murphy said he and his staff were delighted to provide this service in emergency and uncertain times.
