St Patrick’s Day showcase at MacDonagh Junction

Beautiful singing by Alize's School of Music at MacDonagh Junction

Huge crowds gathered at MacDonagh Junction Shopping Centre to celebrate St Patrick’s Day with families travelling from far and wide to enjoy the festivities last week. DJ Paul Kavanagh kick started the pre parade entertainment before visitors were treated to spectacular performances from young, local talent including singers from Alize’s School of Singing, dancers from CMD Dance School and Dragon’s Lair who showcased amazing talent with an incredible marital arts demonstration.

Leprechauns Lucky and Larry were full of fun entertaining the crowds with hugs and high fives for everyone in the audience while brave explorers joined the search for (pretend) snakes that were lurking in dark corners throughout the Centre. The day’s activities culminated in a live trad session, that had both young and old up showing off their dance moves!

Centre Manager Marion Acreman commented “today felt joyous as we returned to hosting family fun and entertainment in the Centre after a long two years without it. We were delighted to support the City’s St Patricks Day Festival again by organising our in-centre events. We loved seeing children, parents and grandparents gathered to celebrate our National Day in person once again. It was heart-warming to see the pride of grandparents and parents watching their young performers on stage after missing out on these live performances for so long. Our staff team were completely energised by the wonderful feedback from customers throughout the extended festival weekend. We would like to thank all the people that supported our business across the weekend.”
