South Kilkenny Run

BY MICHAEL O’LEARY

It’s a big day in Ballyhale this coming Sunday September 24th as The South Kilkenny Run takes place. There should be a very good turnout particularly among families as races take place in three different categories starting from 10am.

The 10 Mile Run starts at 10am along with The 10KM Run, while The 5KM Walk/Run starts at 11am.

Plenty of Businesses from The Ballyhale Community and surrounding areas have come on board as sponsors for Sunday’s Event, with a number of those Businesses generously providing Prizes including hampers for the raffle.

Tickets for the raffle will be available on Sunday, and there will be prizes for the first three finishers in the 10 Mile Race in both Male and Female. For first placed there will be €150, for second placed there will be €75, while the third placed in both sections will pick up a €50 voucher from Alfie Hale Sports.

There will be plenty of Prizes to be won on Sunday, and there will be a free Medal for all participants, while a free race t-shirt will be given for the first 50 registered in The 10 Mile or 10KM.

It will be €25 to run either The 10 Mile Run or 10KM Run, while for The 5KM Run, it will be €10 for Adults, €5 for Kids and €25 for Family.

You can register online at www.justrunevents.com ahead of Sunday or check out The South Kilkenny Run page on Facebook for further details.

All proceeds for Sunday’s event will go towards the development of a new clubhouse in Ballyhale Shamrocks GAA Grounds.

Refreshments will be provided afterwards, and a fun filled morning/early afternoon is in store as the community gathers together for what should be a memorable day in a family friendly atmosphere.
