Mayor David attends unveiling of signage at Newpark Estate

Newpark estate officially unveiled their new limestone estate signage on Thursday last.

Performing the ceremony was Mayor David Fitzgerald who was joined by local residents, Cllr Eugene McGuinness, Garda Andy Neill, and Fr Dan Carroll ,Team Leader at St Jihns Parish.

The residents association also used the occasion to acknowledge the work of Kilkenny County Council outdoor staff who recently improved the aesthetics of the estate by planting a selection of trees and shrubs on the Newpark Drive roundabout.

Special guest for occasion was Donie Phelan whose parents Dick and Kitty moved their family from Palmerston to become the first residents of Newpark in 1953.
