Lifeguards patrol our swimming areas

AS THE bathing season begins, Lifeguard Services are being provided by Kilkenny County Council’s Lifeguard Team once again this year.

Lifeguards now oversee the safety of the public at the traditional swimming areas across the county.

Lifeguards will be available at these areas for the summer.   Risk assessments have been conducted in conjunction with Kilkenny Water Safety for each site and recommendations have been addressed.

In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, swimming at these areas and the provision of the lifeguard service will be in strict accordance with national public health advice.

There is a Swim and Go policy to avoid large gatherings at swimming areas.
