We are excited to share news of a vibrant cultural event that came to Kilkenny on Saturday, May 17th. The Balkan Party, organized by Žana Elez, was held at The Home Rule Club and promised an evening filled with live music, dancing, and a wonderful sense of community connection.
This special event brought the energetic rhythms of the Balkans to Kilkenny, offering a chance to experience traditional tunes, upbeat dance music, and authentic Balkan hospitality right here in Ireland. People from all over the country attended, creating a lively and welcoming atmosphere for everyone. Talented musicians provided live performances throughout the night, ensuring an unforgettable experience filled with great vibes and positive energy.
This was the second such gathering, following a successful first party last September. That event, supported by the Kilkenny Leader Partnership as part of a Global Kitchen Daily initiative, featured Balkan food and an evening of celebration.
Thanks to the generosity of the local community, a venue was provided, making this Balkan Party a true gathering point for people of all backgrounds. Whether attendees were already fans of Balkan music or simply looking to experience something new and culturally rich, they were warmly welcomed.
Everyone marked their calendars and danced the night away as the heart of the Balkans met the spirit of Ireland in Kilkenny!
