Kilkenny Home Energy Expo to Help Households Cut Costs and Stay Warmer


Residents across Kilkenny are being invited to attend the upcoming Kilkenny Home Energy Expo on Tuesday, 19th May at the Newpark Hotel, Kilkenny, where homeowners can discover practical ways to make their homes warmer, healthier, and more energy efficient while reducing rising energy costs.

Keep Kilkenny Beautiful (Kilkenny City Sustainable Energy Community) SEC, with the support of South-East Energy Agency and Kilkenny LEADER Partnership are hosting a Kilkenny Home Energy Expo, in the New Park Hotel 19th of May 10:30 – 5:00pm. There are 20+ suppliers of Solar Panels, Heat Pumps, Insulation, BER services, Windows and Doors.

Short talks will be given on Making your home warmer, reduce your energy costs, grants & financing options.   There will be the option to get One-to-one advice clinics with energy experts, meet the contractors & installers, and learn about the SEAI new window & door grants.  Advice on traditional Heritage homes will be in attendance as well as Kilkenny County Council Climate Action Team, Environment Awareness Office (Circular Economy), Biodiversity Awareness, Bike Mobility Scheme and Housing adaptation team.

The Expo will also see the launch of the new KKB SEC Warmer Homes Champion Initiative, an ambitious community programme aimed at encouraging and supporting local residents to improve the energy efficiency of their homes. Where applicable, homeowners in receipt of a social welfare payment can qualify for a Free SEAI shallow retrofit which will reduce their energy costs and make their homes more comfortable to live in. Its 100% free and Keep Kilkenny Beautiful want those who qualify to be aware of the scheme.

Also, in attendance to support the community will be the PPN, Kilkenny LEADER Partnership, Kilkenny Healthy Age Friendly Programme and Kilkenny Healthy Eating.  Come along and enter a Free Draw for a Free Home Energy Assessment sponsored by Southeast Energy Agency.

The Kilkenny Home Energy Expo will help connect residents with trusted experts and local organisations that can guide them through the process.”
