On Friday last, 26 June, the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Kilkenny County Council took place in the Council Chamber at County Hall, John Street, Kilkenny.
During the meeting, elections were held for the positions of Cathaoirleach and Leas-Cathaoirleach of Kilkenny County Council, as well as Cathaoirleach and Leas-Cathaoirleach of the Castlecomer Municipal District.
Cathaoirleach:
Cllr. Joe Malone (FF) has been elected as Cathaoirleach of Kilkenny County Council.
The newly elected Cathaoirleach stated that it was an honour to take over the role of Kilkenny’s First Citizen and he looks forward to working with all of you to achieve our goals and address the challenges facing our communities.
Leas Cathaoirleach:
Cllr. Deirdre Cullen (FF) has been elected Leas Cathaoirleach of Kilkenny County Council.
CASTLECOMER MUNICIPAL DISTRICT
Cllr. Pat Fitzpatrick (FF) has been elected as Cathaoirleach of Castlecomer Municipal District.
The newly elected Cathaoirleach expressed his pride at taking over the role.
Cllr. John Brennan, (FG) has been elected Leas Cathaoirleach of Castlecomer Municipal District.
