Curtain rises tonight on Gowran Little Theatre’s latest comedy

The Cast of The Two Loves of Gabriel Foley

The curtain rises tonight in Gowran Parish Hall as Gowran Little Theatre presents The Two Loves of Gabriel Foley, a warm and hilarious comedy by popular Irish playwright Jimmy Keary. The production runs from October 16th to 19th and promises plenty of laughs, romance and confusion along the way. At the centre of the story is Gabriel Foley, a middle-aged bachelor farmer who lives with his acid-tongued elderly mother, Aggie. Unlucky in love and with Aggie despairing of ever getting him out from under her feet, Gabriel’s fortunes appear to change when he meets the sophisticated Hazel Myers. Smitten, he even joins a rather posh local drama group in an effort to win her heart. But Gabriel hasn’t noticed that kind-hearted Chrissie McCabe, who regularly helps out at the Foley household, has feelings for him too. Before long, Gabriel finds himself caught between two very different women – and discovers that matters of the heart are rarely straightforward. The production is directed by Michael Hayes, who has been involved in Kilkenny theatre for almost 30 years. Having previously directed two successful one-act plays for Gowran Little Theatre, Michael now takes the helm of his first full-length production with the group.

The cast features Kevin Tynan, Claire Henriques, Linda Beale, Irene Drennan, Alan Grant, Siobhán Maher, Clódagh Corrigan and Peter Madden.
