Bishop Nash meets with family of Jo Jo Dullard to offer pastoral support

The Apostolic Administrator for the Diocese of Ossory, Bishop Ger Nash, met with members of the family of Jo Jo Dullard at the Diocesan Office this week to offer his personal support, prayers, and solidarity.

The meeting provided a dedicated space for reflection and pastoral support for Jo Jo’s sister, Kathleen, and her husband, Seamus. Joining the Bishop was Fr. Willie Purcell, a personal friend of the Dullard family, who has long been involved in the community’s efforts to support them, including organizing the annual remembrance service for Jo Jo and all missing persons alongside the Kilkenny Gospel Choir.

During the visit, Bishop Nash acknowledged the profound difficulty the family has faced, specifically recognizing the enduring pain and the heavy burden of uncertainty that they have carried for decades. In a gesture of comfort, the Bishop assured the family that the Diocese of Ossory continues to hold them firmly in its prayers.

“The meeting served as a poignant reminder of the necessity of standing alongside families who continue their long, arduous search for answers and healing,” Fr. Willie commented.

Through this meeting, the Diocese reaffirmed its ongoing commitment to accompanying the Dullard family with compassion and pastoral care. Bishop Nash expressed his heartfelt hope that the family would continue to draw strength from the unwavering support of their community and the solace found in their faith.

The disappearance of Jo Jo Dullard remains one of Ireland’s most prominent and enduring missing person cases. As the search for truth continues, she remains deeply missed and remembered by her family, friends, and the wider community.

Concluding the meeting, Bishop Nash said he would continue keeping Jo Jo and her family in his thoughts and prayers during what remains a profoundly difficult time.
