Teas With Benefits

BY CLAIR WHITTY

Herbal teas are a fantastic way to support your health. They’re easy to take and it’s not another pill or supplement that you have to swallow. You can control how many cups you drink and can vary them to suit your needs. Herbal teas are a regular part of my health care routine. I love my Pukka Discovery Tea Chest; I got it as a present and it was one the best presents that I ever got. You can switch your teas around as you find your own favourites.

It is difficult for me to pick out which herbal teas to tell you about as there are so many amazing options.

Which tea helps best for sleep is the most common question I get asked. Dr Stuarts Valerian is one of our most popular ones to try. Its main ingredient is valerian root which is one of the most popular herbs historically used to help insomnia. It also contains lime flowers, passionflower and fennel. All of these have a calming effect on your body and mind so that you can relax a bit better and fall asleep faster. One cup an hour before bed should help. You can take a second earlier in the evening if you need to.

Many ask if there is a tea to drink every day for inflammation. Teas that contain turmeric or ginger are a great option. One of our most popular teas to help with inflammation, aches and pains is Pukka Turmeric, Ginger & Orange. The ginger gives it a fiery taste and the orange is a lovely twist in there too. It is a pleasant one. You can drink two to three cups per day.

I often get asked for a tea to help with focus, concentration, or with clarity. This could be studying for exams, or someone who just wants to be a little sharper in their mind. Take a look at The Herbtender Pure Focus Tea. It contains peppermint, liquorice, lion’s mane, rosemary and lemon verbena. This blend does what it says on the box. My colleague who is studying for exams tried it and said it was brilliant, that it really helped her.

This is a short insight into the exciting world of herbal teas. I hope you enjoy your cuppa!
