“It is always wonderful to be part of a packed church, festive song and reflection.” So said Fr Dermot Ryan when he spoke at St Mary’s Cathedral last Sunday. Fr Dermot went on to say that a Carol service marks the start of the Christmas feeling and is a wonderful way of telling the Christmas story – or aspects of it – that might not have made the scriptures. Sending an invite to all people of Kilkenny and visitors alike, Fr Ryan said that rehearsals were at an advanced stage for next Sunday when the annual Carol Service takes place at the Cathedral. “I am biased,a but we have the best choir in town, and they, along with the Unity Singers will transport us to, and through, the Christmas story.”
Carol service will take place on Sunday 21 December at 7.30 pm
