Rachael Blackmore celebrates winning the Goffs Thyestes Handicap Chase at Gowran Park last Thursday onboard Ain't That A Shame trained by Henry de Bromhead

Gowran Park were delighted with the 2024 Goffs Thyestes Day with an attendance of just under 9K treated to a great day’s racing. Without question the highlight of the day was the brilliant Rachael Blackmore claiming her first Thyestes Cup after a superb ride on the Henry de Bromhead trained Ain’t That A Shame and it was very clear by the smile on Rachael’s face that this meant an awful lot to a jockey who has done it all. Southeast trainers were the order of the day with 6 of the 7 races being won by trainers on the locality, WP Mullins with a treble, Henry with a double and J P O Brien winning the bumper. The Après racing again went down a storm with After Dark rocking the party marquee well into the evening. All roads now lead to Connolly’s RED MILLS Day on Saturday February 17th.
