Audiology Medical Services is delighted to launch their annual Christmas Carol Contest for 2023. Breaking new ground this year, Audiology Medical Services are excited to open the competition to choirs nationwide offering a unique opportunity for choirs from every corner of the country and of all ages, to join in spreading the joy of the season through music while also promoting awareness about the significance of hearing and hearing health.
With choirs and schools nationwide busy rehearsing and preparing for Christmas celebrations, Audiology Medical Services are inviting all choirs to submit videos singing their favourite Christmas carols to be in with a chance of winning a cash prize of €1000, with winners chosen through a public vote.
Submissions are welcomed and encouraged in a wide range of styles; from gospel to pop, rap to folk, jazz, classical and beyond, with extra points given to any performance that includes Lámh or sign language in their submission video. Submissions can be made by emailing a video or link of your entry directly to Audiology Medical Services at hello@audiologymedicalservices.ie.
Speaking at the launch of this year’s competition, Director of Audiology Medical Service, Kay Lewis, said: “We have seen how musically talented the children of Ireland are over the last couple of years with this competition, and it’s something we look forward to every year. I think opening it up to all choirs for the first time this year adds even more excitement adding an extra element to this year’s contest.”
Kay went on to add: “Our Christmas Carol Contest highlights the tremendous talent while celebrating the joy of Christmas and all the wonderful sounds we experience over the festive season. It particularly highlights the important role our hearing plays in creating lasting memories and experiencing Christmas to the fullest.”
