OVER THE past 40 years of business Curtains Direct and their dedicated team have worked closely with commercial and domestic clients all over Ireland.
The business supplies and installs curtains, blinds, soft furnishings and furniture to the healthcare, hospitality and educational sector as well as the domestic market.
Director Breda Leahy had been thinking over the past couple of weeks of ways to support people during this most incredible of times.
Breda has said: “It’s an honour that we were in a position to do something so positive during the current crisis.”
Curtains Direct had stock rolls of healthcare fabrics, the business decided the best route was to donate these to charitable organisations.
By donating to organisations nationwide management felt that these organisations would be in a position to manufacture at a bigger capacity and reach a wider net of people.
Curtains Direct was overwhelmed by the reaction from its conversation with Mairead Ronan on today FM.
Frontline workers
Almost immediately it had received correspondence from charitable organisations that were providing various items to frontline workers, from organisations that offer support to people with intellectual disabilities and organisations that support the elderly and vulnerable in communities.
We then went about the mammoth task of reviewing all the e mails and packing up the fabrics and getting them ready to dispatch. We really have to thank from the bottom of our heart Fastway Couriers namely Kevin Gorman, Ed Allen and Brendan McNamara.
They came on board and delivered a large number of rolls of fabrics free of charge to all corners of Ireland. Curtains Direct in turn posted further parcels and hand delivered the remaining.
Curtains Direct is now looking to the future and to what it holds. As a family run business it has its manufacturing facility in Patrickswell, County Limerick it is optimistic and will depend on the continued support of customers during these unpredicted times.
