Choirs to perform carol service at St Mary’s Cathedral with special guest Tanya Sewell

A packed St Mary’s Cathedral enjoying the Carol Service in 2022

A very special evening of music and carols will take place on Sunday 17th at 7.30pm at St Mary’s Cathedral, Kilkenny.

Following on from last years successful concert, the much loved event returns and promises to be bigger and better.

This year there is an outstanding line up of performers including St Mary’s Cathedral choir, The Unity Singers, The Kilkenny Youth Orchestra, and special guest soloist Tanya Sewell.

Tanya is a very familiar singer with Kilkenny audiences and has performed previously at the cathedral.

During last years concert Tanya treated the audience to such wonderful Carol’s as ‘Christmas Lullaby’, ‘Adeste Fidelis’, ‘In the Bleak Mid-winter’, ‘Silent Night’ and ‘The Bell Carol’.

Other favourites we can look forward to include In Dulci Jubilo, See Amid the Winter snow, Hark the herald angels sing and O holy night.

John O’Neill will conduct the choirs while Joy Bibby will be the organist on the night.

Although it is a free event it is advised to arrive early as the church fills up very quickly.

A collection for a local charity will take place on the night.
