Kilkenny County Council Fire and Rescue Service (Freshford Brigade) has taken delivery of a new Class B Fire Engine from the manufacturer, Emergency 1 – UK.
The new fire engine was designed by Fire Service staff and was fully funded by the National Directorate for Fire and Emergency Management at a manufacturing cost in excess of €500,000. This new fire tender is designed to face the challenges posed by fighting fire in current environments and will replace a 20-year-old tender. The design has been optimised to provide the crew with protection from carcinogens, facilitate data management and provide a safe and reliable platform to fire fighters in Freshford.
