Sgt Steven Allen and Garda Mark Nolan, members of the Community Engagement team, returned to St John’s Parish centre last Wednesday to deliver the second instalment of their proactive community safety advice programme to members of the Eastern Environs Community group.
On this occasion Steven & Mark focused on the scourge of ‘bogus callers’ and how people can ensure their online safety. Utilising an extremely detailed power point presentation Steven & Mark gave pertinent detailed information that allows individuals, families and communities to secure their personal space. An interactive session saw Steven & Mark impart critical knowledge and the relevant actions required to ensure safety. The information was reiterated using scenarios, role play and personal testimonies . The Eastern Environs group was enthused by the Garda programme. On behalf of the group Miriam Griffin thanked Steven and Mark for the beneficial, information, kindly interactions and humorous anecdotes.
The afternoon concluded with fun and laughter as Steven & Mark joined the group for the obligatory chat, tea and chocolate biscuits.
