Filmmakers and creatives from across Kilkenny will gather this April for the Artist Connect Film Day, a one-day event focused on collaboration, discussion and developing new work.
Taking place on Saturday, April 11th, 2026, from 10am to 5pm at Thomastown Community Centre, Marshes Street, Kilkenny, the event will be hosted by writer and filmmaker Gillian Grattan and will feature contributions from screenwriter John Morton, producer Aoibhín Murphy and actor-writer Susie Lamb.
Gillian Grattan’s work spans film, theatre and radio, with recent projects recognised at national festivals. She was the winner of both the 2025 Boyne Short Film Bursary and the 2026 Directed By Her screenplay award for Faking Fungie, with her writing partner.
Among the guest speakers is John Morton, an award-winning writer of television series Dead Still, for which he won an Edgar Award and received an IFTA nomination. John also has an extensive body of theatre work.
Producer Aoibhín Murphy works across independent film and television, supporting the development of new Irish work and emerging talent.
Susie Lamb, an actor and writer working across stage and screen, brings a performance-led perspective to storytelling and character development.
The programme includes panel discussions, breakout sessions, and a practical workshop, offering attendees the chance to develop ideas, gain industry insight and connect with other creatives.
The event is free to attend, with advance registration via theatretada@gmail.com or WhatsApp on 086 263 4556.
Film Connect is kindly supported by the Kilkenny Arts Office.
